Method explained

The inputs a warehouse-solution proposal needs

Separate the load, storage regime, handling flow and project responsibilities before discussing equipment, software or an operating model.

Choose the type of proposal

A storage system, WMS implementation, physical site and operating service require different information. Identify what is being offered before describing capacity or searching for a partner. A company may hold several roles, but those roles should not be assumed from its name. The first brief should explain which part of the warehouse operation the supplier or prospective partner is expected to support.

Describe the load and operating flow

Record the goods, handling unit, storage regime and the relevant sequence of operations. Keep area, usable volume, storage positions and throughput as separate measures. A single large capacity figure can conceal an unsuitable basis for the decision. Unknown site conditions belong in a question list for the qualified reviewer; they should not be filled with generic assumptions to make the proposal look complete.

Separate commercial comparison from engineering

A quotation can identify the equipment and work included, but it is not itself a rack design, fire-safety review or refrigeration calculation. List the inputs that the appropriate specialist needs and identify who will provide them. For software, use the same discipline for workflows and authorised interfaces. The guided brief should organise the task without pretending to determine technical safety.

Review availability and capability directly

A warehouse listing can establish a research candidate, not current vacancy or suitability. A service description can suggest a role, not prove product-specific competence. Confirm the actual site, operating conditions and available commercial offer with the responsible party at the relevant time. Preserve the distinction between an identified location, a proposed visit and an agreed lease or implementation.

Make responsibilities visible at handover

The proposal should identify who supplies, installs, operates, maintains and accepts each part of the solution. A cold-storage site can serve multiple industries while remaining one physical object. Keep that identity consistent in the research record. The practical aim is a shared understanding of the next checks and decisions, without implying that LYNQ is the carrier, operator or owner of the site.

Questions to put in the first brief

  • Is the offer a product, a software implementation, a physical site or an operating service?
  • What goods and storage conditions define the application?
  • Are area, usable volume, pallet positions and throughput recorded as different measures?
  • What operating flow and site constraints need a technical review?
  • Who must check engineering safety and the equipment or software interfaces?
  • Which region and local responsibilities should the partner profile cover?

Use these questions to prepare a focused discussion with LYNQ. Scope, timing and any external specialist work are agreed after the task is reviewed.
